This extended excursion combines ancient archaeology, mythology, and dramatic natural landscapes, offering a more relaxed pace than a single-day trip while still covering major highlights of central Greece.

Itinerary
The tour begins early in Athens with pickup from designated hotels or a central meeting point. You then travel northwest through mainland Greece, passing towns and scenic landscapes on the way to Delphi.
At Delphi, you visit the archaeological site, including the Temple of Apollo and surrounding ruins, with time to explore the sanctuary and museum. After the visit, the journey continues toward central Greece, passing through mountain regions and stopping briefly along the way before reaching the Meteora area in the evening.
You stay overnight in a hotel near Kalambaka or Kastraki at the base of Meteora’s rock formations. On the second day, you visit several of the monasteries built on towering cliffs, with guided commentary on their history and significance. After the Meteora visit, the return journey to Athens includes scenic stops en route and concludes in the late afternoon or evening.
Who is this experience best for
This tour is best suited for travelers who want to experience both Delphi and Meteora without the rush of a single-day itinerary. It is ideal for those interested in Greek history, archaeology, religion, and landscapes, and for visitors comfortable with a structured, multi-day coach tour that includes travel time and overnight accommodation.
Insider notes
This is one of the most time-efficient ways to see both Delphi and Meteora in a single trip from Athens, but it still involves long travel segments each day. Expect early departures and several hours on the road between destinations. Walking at both sites includes uneven terrain and uphill sections, especially at Meteora monasteries, so comfortable shoes are essential. Weather and seasonal conditions may affect timing and the number of monasteries visited.
