Getting from Agios Efstratios to Agathonisi

If you are heading to Agathonisi from Agios Efstratios you are making your way from a small island in the northern Aegean to one of the most remote islands in the Dodecanese group, on the opposite side of the Aegean. Agathonisi has almost no tourist infrastructure and an atmosphere of complete isolation.

There is no direct ferry from Agios Efstratios to Agathonisi. The two islands are in completely different parts of Greece with no sea connection between them. Agathonisi has no airport. The nearest airports are Leros and Samos. Taking the ferry from Agios Efstratios to Lemnos, flying to Athens and then Athens to Leros or Samos, followed by the local ferry to Agathonisi, gives a total journey time of around 6 to 7 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Take the ferry from Agios Efstratios to Lemnos, fly to Athens and then fly to Leros or Samos and take the local ferry across to Agathonisi.
