Getting from Agios Efstratios to Kylini

If you are heading to Kylini from Agios Efstratios you are making your way from a small island in the northern Aegean to a port town on the northwestern Peloponnese coast, with a long sandy beach and the medieval castle of Chlemoutsi nearby, one of the best preserved Frankish fortifications in Greece.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Agios Efstratios to Kylini. Kylini is a mainland port with no connection to the northern Aegean ferry network. Getting there means taking the ferry from Agios Efstratios to Lemnos, which runs 4 times a week in summer and takes around 1 hour 30 minutes, flying to Athens and then driving west to Kylini, which takes around 3 to 3.5 hours from Athens via the E65 motorway and Patras.

Getting there by air

Kylini has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Taking the ferry from Agios Efstratios to Lemnos, flying to Athens and then driving to Kylini gives a total journey time of around 6 to 7 hours. Flying is not a practical option for this route.

Your best option

Take the ferry from Agios Efstratios to Lemnos, fly to Athens and drive to Kylini. The drive from Athens via the E65 motorway through Corinth and Patras takes around 3 to 3.5 hours and is straightforward. If you are traveling with a car, fly to Athens, rent a car and drive west to Kylini via Patras.
