Getting from Agios Efstratios to Rhodes

If you are heading to Rhodes from Agios Efstratios you are making your way from a small island in the northern Aegean to the largest island in the Dodecanese group, in the southeastern Aegean. It has a medieval walled city built by the Knights of Saint John that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best preserved medieval towns in Europe.

Take the ferry

Getting there by sea means taking the ferry from Agios Efstratios to Lemnos, flying to Athens and then taking the overnight Piraeus to Rhodes ferry, which takes 12 to 18 hours and runs 1 to 2 times daily in summer. The total journey by this route takes the better part of two days and flying is considerably more practical.

Total travel time is around 5 to 6 hours and is the most practical approach for most travelers.
