Getting from Agios Efstratios to Skiathos

If you are heading to Skiathos from Agios Efstratios you are making your way to the most cosmopolitan of the Sporades group, in the northern Aegean. It has a lush green coastline, an international airport and some of the finest sandy beaches in the northern Aegean.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Agios Efstratios to Skiathos. Getting there means taking the ferry from Agios Efstratios to Lemnos, which runs 4 times a week in summer and takes around 1 hour 30 minutes, flying to Athens and then traveling to Volos or Mantoudi in northern Evia for the ferry to Skiathos. From Volos the crossing takes around 1 hour 15 minutes to 2 hours. Note that as of 2026 there are no departures from Agios Konstantinos to Skiathos.

Getting there by air

Skiathos has its own international airport with daily connections from Athens. Taking the ferry from Agios Efstratios to Lemnos and flying directly to Skiathos via Athens gives a total journey time of around 4 to 5 hours. A direct seasonal flight from Thessaloniki to Skiathos may also be available, and Lemnos has connections to Thessaloniki, making that a useful alternative that avoids Athens entirely.

Your best option

Take the ferry from Agios Efstratios to Lemnos and fly to Skiathos via Athens or Thessaloniki. It is the most time efficient approach. If you are traveling with a car, fly to Athens, drive to Volos and take the ferry across to Skiathos from there.
