Getting from Agistri to Lavrio

If you are heading to Lavrio from Agistri you are making your way from a small pine-covered island in the Saronic Gulf to the third ferry port serving Athens, on the southeastern tip of Attica around 30 minutes from Athens Airport. It is the departure point for ferries to Kea, Kythnos and several other Cycladic islands.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Agistri to Lavrio. Lavrio has no connection to the Saronic Gulf ferry network. Getting there means taking the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, which takes around 55 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes, and then traveling to Lavrio by taxi or bus, which takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour from Piraeus. A more convenient approach is to take the metro from Piraeus to Athens Airport and then a taxi directly to Lavrio, which takes around 20 to 30 minutes.

Getting there by air

Lavrio has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens International, around 30 kilometres to the northwest. Taking the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus and then traveling to Lavrio gives a total journey time of around 3 to 4 hours.

Your best option

Take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, take the metro to Athens Airport and then a taxi directly to Lavrio. At around 20 to 30 minutes from the airport it is one of the most convenient airport to port connections in Greece. If you are heading to Kea or Kythnos from Lavrio, ferries to both islands run frequently throughout the day in summer.
