Getting from Amorgos to Donoussa
If you are heading to Donoussa from Amorgos you are making your way from the most eastern of the Cyclades to one of the Small Cyclades islands, just to the northwest. It has good beaches and a single main settlement with an atmosphere of genuine isolation.
Take the ferry
There is a direct ferry from Amorgos to Donoussa running several times a week via the Express Skopelitis, the local Small Cyclades ferry that threads through the island group. The crossing from Aegiali or Katapola to Donoussa takes around 1 to 2 hours depending on the stops along the way. It is the most natural and practical connection between the two islands and keeps the journey entirely within the Small Cyclades network.
Getting there by air
Donoussa has no airport. The nearest airport is Naxos. Amorgos has no airport either. The Express Skopelitis ferry is considerably more practical than flying for this short island hop.
Your best option
Take the Express Skopelitis from Amorgos to Donoussa. It is one of the most enjoyable ferry journeys in the Cyclades, threading through the Small Cyclades island group. Check the schedule before planning around it as the service runs a limited number of times per week. Give yourself at least two nights on Donoussa and come prepared as facilities on the island are limited.
