Getting from Amorgos to Sifnos
If you are heading to Sifnos from Amorgos you are making your way from the most eastern of the Cyclades to one of the most respected islands in the group, on the western side of the Aegean. It is known above all for its food, a tradition of pottery and cooking that has made it one of the most regarded gastronomic destinations in the Aegean.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Amorgos to Sifnos. Getting there means taking the overnight ferry from Amorgos to Piraeus and then boarding the Piraeus to Sifnos ferry, which runs up to 4 times daily in summer and takes around 2.5 hours on the fast boat. Alternatively, take the ferry from Amorgos to Naxos, fly to Athens and take the ferry from Piraeus to Sifnos.
Getting there by air
Sifnos has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Amorgos has no airport either. Taking the ferry from Amorgos to Naxos, flying to Athens and then taking the ferry from Piraeus to Sifnos gives a total journey time of around 6 to 7 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Take the ferry from Amorgos to Naxos, fly to Athens and take the ferry from Piraeus to Sifnos. At around 2.5 hours on the fast boat the Piraeus to Sifnos crossing is one of the more manageable Cyclades connections. If you are traveling with a car, take the overnight ferry from Amorgos to Piraeus and board the conventional Piraeus to Sifnos ferry, which takes your vehicle directly to Kamares port.
