Getting from Donoussa to Schinoussa

If you are heading to Schinoussa from Donoussa you are making your way from one of the Small Cyclades to a neighbouring island in the same group, just a short distance to the west. It has more than 18 beaches scattered around a coastline that you can walk across in an afternoon.

Take the ferry

There is a direct ferry from Donoussa to Schinoussa running on the Small Cyclades Lines route, taking around 1 hour 50 minutes and running 2 to 6 times a week. It is one of the most natural sea connections from Donoussa and keeps the journey entirely within the Small Cyclades without going through Athens or Piraeus. The Express Skopelitis also serves this route, connecting the Small Cyclades islands on an almost daily basis in summer.

Getting there by air

Schinoussa has no airport. The nearest airport is Naxos. Donoussa has no airport. The direct ferry connection is the only realistic option for this short island hop and at around 1 hour 50 minutes it is one of the most effortless connections within the Small Cyclades.

Your best option

Take the direct ferry from Donoussa to Schinoussa. It is the most natural and direct connection and keeps the journey entirely within the Small Cyclades. Check the schedule carefully before booking as the service runs a limited number of times per week and departure days vary by season. Give yourself at least two nights on Schinoussa and come with everything you need as facilities on the island are limited.
