Getting from Donoussa to Serifos

If you are heading to Serifos from Donoussa you are making your way from one of the Small Cyclades to an island in the western Cyclades, in the same island group. It has a Chora that climbs a steep hill above the port in a way that looks almost impossibly dramatic from the water.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Donoussa to Serifos. Alternatively take the direct Donoussa to Piraeus ferry and then the Piraeus to Serifos ferry, which runs 4 to 5 times daily in summer and takes around 2 to 3.5 hours on the fast boat.

Getting there by air

Serifos has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Donoussa has no airport. The nearest airport is Naxos. Taking the ferry from Donoussa to Naxos and connecting west through the Cyclades to Serifos is considerably more practical than flying for this island hop within the same island group. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Take the ferry from Donoussa to Naxos and connect west through the Cyclades to Serifos. It keeps the journey within the Cyclades and avoids Athens entirely. Check the schedules carefully before booking as the Donoussa to Naxos connection runs a limited number of times per week. If you are traveling with a car, take the Donoussa to Piraeus ferry and board the conventional Piraeus to Serifos ferry, which takes your vehicle directly to Livadi port.
