Getting from Symi to Antiparos

If you are heading to Antiparos from Symi you are making your way from one of the most beautiful harbour towns in the Dodecanese to a small island just off the western coast of Paros in the Cyclades, on the opposite side of the Aegean. It has a Venetian kastro village, good beaches and an atmosphere that rewards those who stay overnight rather than visiting on a day trip from Paros.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Symi to Antiparos. Antiparos is accessible only via Paros, either by a 7 minute local ferry from Pounta on the western coast of Paros running every 30 minutes in summer, or by passenger boat from Parikia taking around 30 minutes. Getting there means taking the ferry from Symi to Rhodes, which takes around 50 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes and runs multiple times daily, and then flying from Rhodes to Athens and taking the Piraeus to Paros ferry before crossing to Antiparos from Pounta.

Getting there by air

Antiparos has no airport. The nearest airport is Paros, though no commercial scheduled flights operate there in 2026. Symi has no airport. The nearest airport is Rhodes. Taking the ferry from Symi to Rhodes, flying from Rhodes to Athens and then taking the Piraeus to Paros ferry before crossing to Antiparos from Pounta gives a total journey time of around 6 to 7 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the ferry from Symi to Rhodes and fly from Rhodes to Athens, then take the Piraeus to Paros ferry and cross to Antiparos from Pounta. The Pounta to Antiparos ferry runs every 30 minutes in summer and takes 7 minutes. Note that Symi is car-free so if you are traveling with a car it would already be in Rhodes, from where you can board the overnight Piraeus ferry in reverse and then board the conventional Piraeus to Paros ferry, crossing to Antiparos from Pounta.
