Getting from Thassos to Tilos

If you are heading to Tilos from Thassos you are making your way from the northernmost island in Greece to an island in the Dodecanese group, on the opposite side of the Aegean. It is the first island in the Mediterranean to run entirely on renewable energy with good walking trails and a wild coastline.

Getting there means taking the ferry from Thassos to Kavala, which runs almost hourly in summer and takes around 1 hour 30 minutes, and then either flying from Kavala to Athens and then Athens to Rhodes or Kos, followed by the local ferry to Tilos, which takes around 1 hour 40 minutes to 3 hours 50 minutes from Rhodes and around 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes from Kos, or driving to Piraeus for the overnight Piraeus to Tilos ferry.

Getting there by air

Your best option

Take the ferry from Thassos to Kavala and fly from Kavala to Athens, then fly from Athens to Rhodes and take the local ferry across to Tilos. Check the Rhodes to Tilos schedule before booking your flights as the service does not run daily. If you are traveling with a car, take the ferry from Thassos to Kavala and drive to Piraeus for the overnight Piraeus to Tilos ferry, which takes your vehicle.
