The tour begins in Athens with morning pickup and departure toward the Peloponnese. The first day includes stops at the Corinth Canal, the ancient theatre of Epidaurus, and the archaeological site of Mycenae, before continuing to an overnight stay with dinner included.
On the second day, the journey continues to Olympia, the historic birthplace of the Olympic Games. You’ll explore the archaeological site and its museum before traveling onward, crossing notable landscapes and infrastructure along the way, and settling into your next overnight accommodation.
Day three focuses on Delphi, one of the most significant religious sites of ancient Greece. With your guide, you’ll visit the Temple of Apollo and the archaeological museum, gaining insight into the site’s historical importance as a center of prophecy.
The final day takes you to Meteora, known for its monasteries perched on towering rock formations. After visiting selected monasteries and taking in the dramatic scenery, the tour returns to Athens with a stop at the Leonidas Monument at Thermopylae before concluding in the evening.
Who is this experience best for
This experience is well suited for travelers interested in ancient history, archaeology, and cultural heritage who want to explore multiple regions of mainland Greece in a single trip. It is particularly appropriate for those who prefer guided travel with logistics, accommodation, and transportation arranged in advance, as well as visitors with limited time who want a structured overview of key historical sites beyond Athens.
Insider notes
The itinerary covers long distances over four days, so participants should be comfortable with extended travel times by coach. Lunches are typically taken independently during transit or near major sites, offering flexibility in dining choices. Accommodation standards vary depending on the selected option, and modest dress is required when visiting monasteries at Meteora. The order of visits and overnight locations may occasionally vary due to operational or seasonal factors, while maintaining coverage of all major sites included in the program.
