About the Beach
Ligoneri Beach is a beautiful and very peaceful coastal sanctuary on the northwestern coast of Spetses, located just below the historic Anargyrios and Korgialenios School and accessible via a scenic coastal road. It features a shore of fine pebbles and sand with intense turquoise water, surrounded by a dense forest of pine trees that reach the edge of the rocks and provide a fresh, shaded environment. The beach is divided into two small coves and is largely unorganized, maintaining a raw and pristine character that is a favorite for local residents and those seeking a quiet escape from the busier port areas. It is a destination for nature lovers and adventurers who want to experience the island in its most natural and silent form away from the modern commercial centers. The water is deep and fresh, offering a high-quality environment for snorkeling along the rocky edges of the bay where the marine life is abundant. Access is via the local bus or by bicycle, followed by a short walk down a flight of stone stairs that leads to the water. There are no permanent facilities on the sand, so you must be prepared with all your own water and supplies for the day. The atmosphere is quiet and reflects the slow and respectful rhythm of the island life. It is a hidden gem.
