About The Event
The 43rd Athens Marathon. The Authentic takes place on Sunday 8 November 2026 on the historic route from Marathon to the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens. The Marathon Race starts at 08:30 with a time limit of eight hours, and all finishes are completed by 18:15. The course passes the Memorial of the Fallen (Tomb) of the Battle of Marathon, continues through Nea Makri, Pikermi, Pallini and Agia Paraskevi, follows Messogeion Avenue and Vas. Sofias Avenue, and ends with the last 170 meters on the track inside the Panathenaic Stadium. The event weekend of 7 and 8 November also includes a 10km road race, a 5km road race, the 5km Universities Night Run and a 1,200m kids race. The Marathon Race is open to runners aged 20 and over, and its registration is sold out. The event is organized by SEGAS (Hellenic Athletics) and co-organized by the City of Athens.
