About The Event
Australia's Greek Cafés & Milk Bars chronicles the saga of Greek migrants who, from the late 1800s until the 1970s, established thousands of milk bars and cafés in suburbs and towns across Australia, introducing Australians to jukeboxes, all-day dining and the idea that eating out was for everyone. Directed by Pria Viswalingam, co-produced with Elizabeth Kaydos and edited by Jack Rôbin, the documentary draws on decades of research by cultural historians Leonard Janiszewski and Effy Alexakis.
