Greece's Gender Divide: Femicide Through the Lens - London
November 19, 2026 at 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
London, United Kingdom
About The Event
How do films and the media shape our understanding of violence against women? On Thursday 19 November 2026 at 7:00 PM, an all-female panel of former judge Betty Iliadou, Dr Tonia Kazakopoulou and Dr Afroditi Koulaxi examines how coverage of femicide can distract from political and legislative failures. The discussion draws on two Greek films, Mihalis Cacoyannis' Stella (1955) and Tonia Marketaki's John the Violent (1973). The Q&A is moderated by Erifili Missiou of The Garden Cinema. At The Hellenic Centre, Marylebone. Booking required.
