About The Event
Heroes of Greece. The Age of Troy looks into the origins of the myth told in Homer's Iliad and Odyssey and the story behind the epic that shaped the Greek imagination. Featuring close to 400 authentic objects from 28 Greek museums and archaeological sites, the exhibition introduces Achilles, Helen and Odysseus, along with Zeus, Artemis and Poseidon, and the historical reality behind the heroes and gods of the Trojan War. It brings to life two foundational eras of ancient Greece: the prosperous Bronze Age, known for monumental architecture and mastery of gold, and the Iron Age of Homer, when new techniques and mythical tales spread across the Greek world. The exhibition is co-organized by Pointe-à-Callière, Montréal Archaeology and History Complex, and the Hellenic Ministry of Culture, and runs from June 4, 2026, to March 7, 2027.
