«Μια μακρινή σκηνή»: Ο άγνωστος Καβάφης (A Distant Stage: The Unknown Cavafy) is an original performance-discussion at Megaron The Athens Concert Hall on December 7 and 8, 2026. Through personal notes, articles and both iconic and lesser-known poems by C.P. Cavafy, it explores little-known sides of his work, thought and life: how political he was, what he believed about the Parthenon Marbles, the Cyprus question and British imperialism, and how art, memory and desire meet in his writing. Texts are read by Karyofyllia Karampeti with Vasilis Andreou, Giorgos Dampasis, Nikos Kardonis, Stathis Livathinos, Polyxeni Papakonstantinou, Maria Savvidou and Aris Troupakis, framed by Cavafy poems set to music by Dimitri Mitropoulos (1925-1926). The discussion is between Harvard professor Panagiotis Roilos and journalist Makis Provatas, with direction by Stathis Livathinos.
