Poetry in Music – Ypogeia Revmata - London
October 30, 2026 at 7:30 PM
London, United Kingdom
About The Event
As part of GRis Festival London 2026, the long-running Greek rock band Ypogeia Revmata, formed in Athens in 1992 by Giorgos Karakostas and Grigoris Klioumis, play Bush Hall in Shepherd's Bush on Friday 30 October 2026. Inspired by the poetry of great Greek authors Palamas, Karyotakis, Varnalis and Gryparis, the performance brings literary heritage together with modern musical expression, with new and older original compositions specially arranged for the occasion. The evening opens with a speech by Andreas Michalopoulos, Professor of Latin Philology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and continues with musical settings of poems alongside well-known Ypogeia Revmata songs. Ticketing lists a 7:30 PM start, while the festival poster lists 8:00 PM.
