Rembetiko Konzert - Hamburg
November 22, 2026 at 5:00 PM
Hamburg, Germany
About The Event
On Sunday 22 November 2026 at 5 PM, the Mut! Theater in Hamburg's Schanzenviertel, Amandastraße 58, presents a rebetiko concert devoted to the women singers who made this music of Greece popular. Rebetiko, the urban subculture of the port taverns of Athens, Thessaloniki and Piraeus, is often called the blues of the Greeks, is closely tied to the history of the Greek diaspora and is now on UNESCO's cultural heritage list. Stella Tsianios and Stella Morgenstern join Lefteris Gioro and Kostas Smyrnios of the legendary Athenians, with Andreas Hecht on guitar, Ilias Venizeleas on piano and Daniel Kahn on accordion, for old Greek love songs and songs of everyday hardship in the cafe aman tradition.
