Tribute to Spyros Sakkas - Athens
November 28, 2026 at 7:00 PM
Athens, Greece
About The Event
Megaron The Athens Concert Hall dedicates a special evening on Saturday, November 28, 2026, at 7 PM to Spyros Sakkas, one of the most important Greek lyric singers, on the occasion of seventy years of his musical journey. Through a staged narrative that combines music, spoken word and rare archival material, the tribute traces his path from the world of Attik and the Athenian boites to opera, European lied and the musical avant-garde. Collaborators, friends and students perform, alongside Sakkas's own accounts of his encounters with composers such as Yannis Christou, Iannis Xenakis, Manos Hadjidakis, Theodore Antoniou and Yorgos Kouroupos. The day after the concert, Sakkas gives a workshop on contemporary vocal technique.
