About COCO-MAT Athens BC

COCO-MAT Athens BC is at 5 Falirou Street in Koukaki, a few minutes on foot from the Acropolis Museum, the Acropolis and Plaka. Inside, you walk across an ancient Roman mosaic floor in the lobby, under a bird installation that rises up through the building. Reception is open 24 hours, and the concierge can suggest restaurants, plan your day or arrange a private or group guided tour. To see the area at your own pace, borrow one of the hotel's COCO-MAT wooden bikes, or ask the front desk about guided rides.

Rooms and suites

Every room is built around COCO-MAT sleep systems made from natural materials, with natural bedding and a wide choice of pillows. Rooms have parquet floors, soundproofing, a desk, a tea and coffee maker, a Smart TV, a Bang & Olufsen Bluetooth speaker, bathrobes and slippers, and Zealots of Nature toiletries.

City View Rooms (20 sq m) sleep two and suit travellers who will spend their days out exploring. Museum View Rooms (20 sq m) overlook the Acropolis Museum, and Acropolis View Rooms (20 sq m) add a private balcony facing the Acropolis, a good choice for couples. The Acropolis Suite (27 sq m) also looks to the Acropolis and is the only room type that takes up to four guests (two adults and two children), so it is the one for families. There are no twin beds, but a king-size bed (200 x 180 cm) can be made up with separate duvets on request.

Spa and breakfast

On level minus one, the spa has a sauna, a hammam, treatment rooms and a range of massages. The sauna and hammam are free for hotel guests by appointment, and the fitness centre, with exercise machines that use no electricity, is also free.

Breakfast is served in the lobby level restaurant, where you can choose a table beneath the waterfall. It is a buffet certified as a Greek Breakfast, with selected PDO Greek products, plus an à la carte menu of pancakes and eggs. It runs daily from 7am to noon, and early leavers can ask for a free breakfast box before 6:30am. Anthemion BC, the same restaurant, serves Greek and Mediterranean dishes à la carte from 1pm to 10:30pm (last orders), with a dinner menu inspired by Odysseus' journey, and the bar is open from noon to midnight. Room service is available.
