About NJV Athens Plaza

NJV Athens Plaza is at 2A Vasileos Georgiou Street on Syntagma Square, steps from the Parliament, with the Acropolis in view from many of its rooms and suites. It opened in 1980 as Le NJV Meridien and has run independently under its current name since 2009. The concierge can arrange chauffeur transfers, and the hotel puts together cultural packages such as tours of the Acropolis Museum and gallery previews.

Rooms and suites

Superior Rooms take up to two guests, with queen or twin beds and views over Voukourestiou Street, and Classic Business Rooms face the courtyard. Executive Rooms look onto Stadiou Street and sleep up to three with an extra bed, so they suit a small family or friends sharing. Deluxe Rooms all face Syntagma Square, and Deluxe Acropolis Rooms add a view of the Acropolis. In both types some rooms connect to a second double room, which helps families.

Suites run from Deluxe City View Suites to Athenian Acropolis View Suites, which have balconies or terraces and a large living area for dining or meetings. The Acropolis View Deluxe Suites are on the renewed 9th floor, and the Acropolis Panoramic View Suite is 45 sq m with a separate living room facing the Acropolis and a walk-in shower. The Presidential Suite spans the 7th and 8th floors, sleeps four and has a dining area for ten, with views over the city to the Saronic Gulf. Rooms have marble bathrooms, bathrobes and slippers, and a SuitePad tablet for room service and the guest directory.

Dining and breakfast

Breakfast is served at The Parliament Restaurant on the mezzanine, which looks out over Stadiou and Voukourestiou Streets. It is an American style buffet of hot and cold dishes, pastries and fresh juices, alongside a Greek breakfast buffet. It runs from 6:30am to 10:30am on weekdays and until 11am on weekends and holidays.

Explorer's Bar Bistro, also on the mezzanine, has the feel of a British club, with wood panelling and green leather armchairs. Executive chef Panagiotis Anastasiou's à la carte menu draws on Greek and Mediterranean cooking, with a wine list and cocktails, and it is open daily from 1pm to 11pm. Plaza Café overlooks Syntagma Square and serves coffee, pastries, light meals and cocktails from morning to late evening. For wellness, massages can be booked in the hotel's massage room or in your room between 8am and 11pm, and guests get access to Holmes Place Fitness.
