How Many Days Should I Spend on Antiparos?
Antiparos asks for three to four days, enough to see the cave, settle into Chora, and work through the island's beaches without treating it as a rushed crossing from Paros.
Antiparos covers well over a first day. Chora, the island's only real village, stays car-free and centers on the ruins of a Venetian castle, small enough to walk end to end in about ten minutes but worth lingering in past that for its boutiques and bakeries. The Cave of Antiparos, reached by a short bus ride and a descent of around 400 steps, drops into a chamber lined with stalactites and stalagmites, including centuries-old signatures carved into the walls by past visitors.
A second day suits the island's beaches. Soros holds some of the clearest water on the island and turns into a lively scene by afternoon, while Agios Georgios offers calm, shallow water better suited to families, and Faneromeni, down a quieter dirt road, gives a wilder alternative to the two.
A third day belongs to Despotiko, the uninhabited islet reachable by a short boat ride from Agios Georgios, where an ongoing excavation has uncovered a sanctuary dedicated to Apollo. A fourth day works well for anyone wanting to slow down further, since a moped or quad makes it easy to reach quieter corners of the island most day-trippers never see.
Two days cover Chora and the cave comfortably, three adds a proper beach day and Despotiko, and four lets the island's quieter roads and coves come together fully. A day trip from Paros covers the cave and Chora in a rush, but Antiparos holds enough beaches, ruins, and quiet corners to earn several full days of its own.
