Is Porto Heli Expensive?

Porto Heli covers real ground on price, with some of the most upscale resorts in the Peloponnese sitting alongside far more modest guesthouses and apartments just a short distance inland.

Porto Heli draws a genuine luxury crowd, and the beachfront resorts closest to the harbor, several with private pools, spas, and golf facilities, price accordingly for that level of service and location. Away from the immediate waterfront, though, family-run apartments and simpler hotels bring the overall cost of a stay down considerably, without giving up much in the way of proximity to the town's restaurants and the short boat crossing to Spetses.

Dining follows a similar split, since the polished restaurants right on the harbor charge more than the tavernas set back a street or two, and eating where locals do rather than at the most photographed waterfront spots stretches a food budget noticeably further.

A rental car adds a real cost to exploring the wider area, including day trips to the Didyma Caves or Ancient Epidaurus, though public buses and the short, inexpensive boat ride to Spetses give budget-conscious travelers a way to see much of the region without one.

Visiting outside the peak summer months brings accommodation costs down meaningfully, since demand for the town's resort properties eases considerably once the busiest weeks of July and August pass.

Porto Heli suits travelers across a real range of budgets, and the gap between a stay at one of its luxury waterfront resorts and a simpler apartment a short walk from the harbor is wide enough that the town works both for those wanting a real splurge and those looking to keep costs modest while still enjoying the coastline and the easy connection to Spetses.
