Where Should I Stay on Kasos?

Kasos keeps the decision fairly simple, since nearly all of the island's accommodation sits in or right around Fry, the capital and only real port.

Kasos's Fry gives the most practical base, with the harbor, the Archaeological Collection, and a walk to Bouka harbor and the town beach all within easy reach on foot. It suits nearly every visitor, since the island's tavernas, cafes, and small shops concentrate here, and staying close to the port makes early ferry departures considerably easier.

A short distance from the center, toward Arvanitochori and Panagia, a handful of properties give a quieter setting with sea and mountain views, still close enough to Fry for an easy walk into town for dinner. This stretch suits travelers wanting a bit more distance from the harbor without giving up proximity to the island's only real center of activity.

Given how compact Kasos is, either base puts the island's villages, the Wild Kasos hiking trail, and boat trips to Armathia within easy reach, so the choice comes down more to how close to the harbor the stay should be than to any real difference in what's accessible.

Once a base is decided, hotels and places to stay on Kasos span Fry and the quieter streets nearby, and booking ahead matters given how limited the island's accommodation actually is.

Kasos connects by ferry through Karpathos or Crete, and it's worth taking time to check ferry schedules and book tickets ahead of a summer visit, since sailings run only a few times a week. Fry suits nearly every traveler, and the streets nearby suit anyone wanting a slightly quieter stay within easy walking distance of the harbor.
