Where Should I Stay on Paros?

Paros splits mainly between two towns, with beach and mountain options rounding out the choice depending on the trip.

Paros's Parikia, the island's capital and main port, gives the most convenient base, with the Frankish castle, the Church of 100 Doors, and a central bus hub connecting to nearly every part of the island. It suits first-time visitors, island-hoppers, and anyone wanting easy ferry logistics without giving up a genuine old town of narrow lanes and whitewashed houses.

Naoussa, on the north coast, trades some of that convenience for atmosphere, with a Venetian harbor, boutique hotels, and a dining and nightlife scene that draws travelers willing to pay a bit more for the setting. It suits couples and anyone prioritizing evenings out and easy access to the island's best known beaches nearby.

Golden Beach, on the eastern coast, centers the stay directly on the sand, with water sports and a laid-back pace that suits families and beach-focused travelers. Lefkes, up in the mountains, offers the opposite, a quieter, traditional village atmosphere for anyone wanting a slower pace away from the coast.

Once a base is decided, hotels and places to stay on Paros span Parikia, Naoussa, Golden Beach, and Lefkes, so the choice comes down to convenience, atmosphere, beach time, or mountain quiet.

Paros connects by ferry to Naxos and directly from Piraeus, and it's worth taking time to check ferry schedules and book tickets ahead of a summer trip, since Paros also serves as the departure point for Antiparos just across the water. Parikia suits first-timers and island-hoppers, Naoussa suits those wanting nightlife and dining, Golden Beach suits families, and Lefkes suits travelers wanting a slower, mountain pace.
