Getting from Agathonisi to Agistri
If you are heading to Agistri from Agathonisi you are making your way from the northern Dodecanese group to a small pine-covered island in the Saronic Gulf, almost entirely covered in forest with good beaches and clear water close to Athens.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Agathonisi to Agistri. Getting there means taking the local ferry from Agathonisi to Leros or Samos, flying to Athens and then taking the Saronic ferry from Piraeus to Agistri, which takes around 55 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes with up to 15 daily departures in summer.
Getting there by air
Agistri has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Taking the local ferry from Agathonisi to Leros or Samos, flying to Athens and then taking the Saronic ferry from Piraeus to Agistri gives a total journey time of around 5 to 6 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Take the local ferry from Agathonisi to Leros or Samos, fly to Athens and take the Saronic ferry from Piraeus to Agistri. With up to 15 daily departures in summer you rarely need to book in advance for the Piraeus to Agistri connection.
