Getting from Agathonisi to Sifnos
If you are heading to Sifnos from Agathonisi you are making your way from the northern Dodecanese group to one of the most respected islands in the Cyclades, known above all for its food, a tradition of pottery and cooking that has made it one of the most regarded gastronomic destinations in the Aegean.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Agathonisi to Sifnos. Getting there means taking the local ferry from Agathonisi to Leros or Samos, flying to Athens and then taking the Piraeus to Sifnos ferry, which takes around 2.5 hours on the fast boat with up to 4 daily crossings in summer.
Getting there by air
Sifnos has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Taking the local ferry from Agathonisi to Leros or Samos, flying to Athens and then taking the ferry from Piraeus to Sifnos gives a total journey time of around 6 to 7 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Take the local ferry from Agathonisi to Leros or Samos, fly to Athens and take the ferry from Piraeus to Sifnos. At around 2.5 hours on the fast boat the Piraeus to Sifnos connection is one of the more manageable Cyclades crossings. If you are travelling with a car, the conventional ferry from Piraeus takes your vehicle directly to Kamares port.
