Getting from Agathonisi to Skiathos

If you are heading to Skiathos from Agathonisi you are making your way from the northern Dodecanese group to the most cosmopolitan of the Sporades, in the northern Aegean. The two island groups are in completely different parts of Greece and the journey requires going through Athens.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Agathonisi to Skiathos. Getting there means taking the local ferry from Agathonisi to Leros or Samos, flying to Athens and then either flying to Skiathos directly or driving to Volos or Mantoudi in northern Evia for the ferry to Skiathos. Note that as of 2026 there are no departures from Agios Konstantinos to Skiathos. From Volos the crossing takes around 1 hour 15 minutes to 2 hours, and from Mantoudi around 1 hour 15 minutes.

Getting there by air

Skiathos has its own international airport with daily connections from Athens. Taking the local ferry from Agathonisi to Leros or Samos, flying to Athens and then Athens to Skiathos gives a total journey time of around 5 to 6 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the local ferry from Agathonisi to Leros or Samos and fly to Skiathos via Athens. It is the most time efficient approach. If you are travelling with a car, fly to Athens, drive to Volos or Mantoudi and take the ferry across to Skiathos.
