Getting from Agistri to Parga

If you are heading to Parga from Agistri you are making your way from a small pine-covered island in the Saronic Gulf to a Venetian-built harbour town on the Epirus coast, on the opposite side of Greece. It faces the Ionian Sea with good beaches and a relaxed waterfront atmosphere.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Agistri to Parga. Parga is a mainland coastal town with no connection to the Saronic Gulf ferry network. Getting there means taking the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, which takes around 55 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes, and then either flying to Preveza and taking a taxi or bus to Parga, which takes around 1 hour, or flying to Ioannina and taking the bus to Parga, which takes around 1.5 hours.

Getting there by air

Parga has no airport. The nearest airports are Preveza, around 65 kilometres south, and Ioannina, around 103 kilometres east. Taking the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, the metro to Athens Airport and flying to Preveza, followed by a taxi or bus to Parga, gives a total journey time of around 5 to 6 hours.

Your best option

Take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, fly to Preveza via Athens and take a taxi or bus to Parga. It is the most practical approach. If you are traveling with a car, the ferry from Agistri already puts you at Piraeus with your vehicle, then drive northwest via the E65 motorway to Parga, which takes around 5 to 6 hours from Athens.
