Getting from Agistri to Poros

If you are heading to Poros from Agistri you are making a short hop to a neighbouring island in the Saronic Gulf. Poros sits just 200 metres from the Peloponnese mainland and the narrow channel between them creates one of the most charming harbour settings in Greece.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Agistri to Poros. The most practical approach is to take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Aegina, which takes around 10 to 20 minutes, and then board the daily ferry from Aegina to Poros, which takes around 1 hour 20 minutes. Alternatively, take the Saronic ferry from Agistri back to Piraeus and connect to Poros from there, which takes around 1 to 1.5 hours with multiple daily departures. Total journey time via Aegina is around 2 to 2.5 hours.

Getting there by air

Poros has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens. The ferry is the only realistic option for this route.

Your best option

Take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Aegina and then the daily ferry from Aegina to Poros. It is the most direct approach and keeps the journey within the Saronic island chain. If you are traveling with a car, the conventional ferry from Agistri to Piraeus and then Piraeus to Poros is the practical route.
