Getting from Alonissos to Evia

If you are heading to Evia from Alonissos you are making your way from the most remote of the Sporades group to the second largest island in Greece, connected to the mainland by road bridges and a relatively short distance away in the northern Aegean.

Take the ferry

There is a direct seasonal ferry from Alonissos to Mantoudi in northern Evia, running in summer and taking around 2 hours 5 minutes. It is one of the most practical connections from Alonissos and avoids going through Athens entirely. From Mantoudi you can drive south through Evia or cross the bridge to the mainland. The ferry from Alonissos to Kymi in southern Evia also runs in summer, taking around 2 to 3 hours.

Getting there by air

Evia has no commercial airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Alonissos has no airport either. The ferry connections to Mantoudi or Kymi are considerably more practical than any flying option for this route.

Your best option

Take the direct seasonal ferry from Alonissos to Mantoudi. It is the most straightforward and practical connection, putting you in northern Evia without going through Athens at all. Check the schedule before planning around it as the service runs in summer only. If you are traveling with a car, the conventional ferry takes your vehicle directly to Mantoudi.
