Getting from Anafi to Serifos
If you are heading to Serifos from Anafi you are making your way from one of the most remote islands in the Cyclades to an island in the western part of the group. It has a Chora that climbs a steep hill above the port in a way that looks almost impossibly dramatic from the water.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Anafi to Serifos. Getting there means taking the overnight ferry from Anafi to Piraeus and then boarding the Piraeus to Serifos ferry, which runs 4 to 5 times daily in summer and takes around 2 to 3.5 hours. Alternatively, take the ferry from Anafi to Santorini, fly to Athens and take the ferry from Piraeus to Serifos.
Getting there by air
Serifos has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Anafi has no airport either. Taking the ferry from Anafi to Santorini, flying to Athens and then taking the ferry from Piraeus to Serifos gives a total journey time of around 6 to 7 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Take the ferry from Anafi to Santorini, fly to Athens and take the ferry from Piraeus to Serifos. At around 2 to 3.5 hours the Piraeus to Serifos crossing is one of the more manageable Cyclades connections. If you are traveling with a car, take the overnight ferry from Anafi to Piraeus and board the conventional Piraeus to Serifos ferry, which takes your vehicle directly to Livadi port.
