Getting from Andros to Milos

If you are heading to Milos from Andros you are making your way from the northernmost island in the Cyclades to one of the most visually striking islands in the group, on the western side of the Aegean. It has a volcanic coastline of white and ochre rock formations and beaches that look like nowhere else in Greece.

Take the ferry

There is a seasonal direct ferry from Andros to Milos running in summer on the wider Blue Star and Seajets routes. The journey takes around 6 to 9 hours with stops along the way through Tinos, Mykonos, Syros and other islands. The more practical approach for most travelers is to take the ferry from Andros to Rafina, make your way to Piraeus and board the Piraeus to Milos ferry, which runs several times daily in summer and takes around 2.5 to 3.5 hours on the fast boat.

Getting there by air

Milos has its own small airport with connections from Athens. Andros has no airport. Taking the ferry from Andros to Rafina, flying to Athens and then Athens to Milos takes around 40 to 45 minutes on the second leg. Total journey time is around 4 to 5 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the ferry from Andros to Rafina, fly to Athens and then fly to Milos. The flight from Athens to Milos takes only 40 minutes and is the faster option. If you are traveling with a car, take the ferry from Andros to Rafina, drive to Piraeus and board the conventional Piraeus to Milos ferry, which takes your vehicle directly to Adamas port.
