Getting from Antiparos to Kos

If you are heading to Kos from Antiparos you are making your way from a small quiet island in the Cyclades to one of the most popular islands in the Dodecanese group, on the opposite side of Greece. It is the birthplace of Hippocrates, with good beaches, a lively town and ancient ruins that are among the finest in the eastern Aegean.

Take the ferry

There is a seasonal direct ferry from Antiparos to Kos running in summer on the wider Blue Star route that connects the Cyclades with the Dodecanese. The service runs a limited number of times per week and takes around 10 to 14 hours with stops along the way. The more practical approach for most travelers is to take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, make your way to Piraeus and fly to Kos via Athens.

Getting there by air

Kos has an international airport with daily connections from Athens. Antiparos has no airport either. Taking the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, making your way to Piraeus and flying to Kos via Athens takes around 1 hour on the second leg. Total journey time is around 6 to 7 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, make your way to Piraeus and fly to Kos via Athens. It is the fastest and most practical approach. If you prefer to travel by sea, check whether the seasonal direct ferry from Paros to Kos aligns with your dates as it avoids Athens entirely. If you are traveling with a car, take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, drive to Piraeus and board the overnight Piraeus to Kos ferry, which takes your vehicle and arrives in the morning.
