Getting from Antipaxos to Igoumenitsa
If you are heading to Igoumenitsa from Antipaxos you are making one of the most natural connections from the island, to the closest mainland port just across the water. It is the main departure point for ferries to Corfu, Paxos and Italy.
Take the ferry
The most practical approach is to take the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Gaios on Paxos, which takes around 15 to 20 minutes, and then board the ferry from Paxos to Igoumenitsa, which runs several times daily in summer and takes around 1 hour 30 minutes. This delivers you directly to the mainland without going through Corfu or Athens. Note that the Paxos to Igoumenitsa ferry is a passenger only service and does not carry vehicles.
Getting there by air
Igoumenitsa has no airport. The nearest airport is Ioannina, around 83 kilometres to the east. Antipaxos has no airport either. The ferry via Paxos is considerably more practical than flying for this short connection to the mainland.
Your best option
Take the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos and board the ferry from Paxos to Igoumenitsa. It is the most natural and direct connection and puts you on the mainland in around 2 hours total from Antipaxos. If you are traveling with a car, the Paxos to Igoumenitsa ferry does not carry vehicles so you would need to arrange alternative transport from the mainland side.
