Getting from Arki to Agathonisi

If you are heading to Agathonisi from Arki you are making your way from one of the smallest inhabited islands in the Dodecanese to one of the most remote islands in the same group, just a short distance to the north. It has almost no tourist infrastructure and an atmosphere of complete isolation.

Take the ferry

There is a direct seasonal ferry from Arki to Agathonisi running in summer via the Dodekanisos Seaways network. The crossing takes around 30 to 45 minutes and is one of the most natural and shortest connections from Arki. The service runs a limited number of times per week so check the schedule carefully before planning around it.

Getting there by air

Agathonisi has no airport. The nearest airports are Leros and Samos. Arki has no airport either. The direct ferry to Agathonisi is the only realistic option for this short connection and at around 30 to 45 minutes it is one of the most effortless island hops in the northern Dodecanese.

Your best option

Take the direct seasonal ferry from Arki to Agathonisi. It is the most natural and direct connection between the two islands. Check the schedule carefully before planning as services run only a limited number of times per week. Come entirely self-sufficient as Agathonisi has almost no facilities and the isolation is the whole point of being there.
