Getting from Chania to Antiparos
If you are heading to Antiparos from Chania you are making your way from the most intimate of Crete's three main cities to a small island just off the western coast of Paros in the Cyclades, to the north. It has a Venetian kastro village, good beaches and an atmosphere that rewards those who stay overnight rather than visiting on a day trip from Paros.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Chania to Antiparos. Antiparos is accessible only via Paros, either by a 7 minute local ferry from Pounta on the western coast of Paros running every 30 minutes in summer, or by passenger boat from Parikia taking around 30 minutes. The most practical sea approach is to take the overnight ferry from Chania to Piraeus and then the Piraeus to Paros ferry, which runs multiple times daily in summer and takes around 3 to 5 hours, before crossing to Antiparos from Pounta.
Getting there by air
Antiparos has no airport. The nearest airport is Paros, though no commercial scheduled flights operate there in 2026. Chania has an international airport with connections from Athens. Flying from Chania to Athens and then taking the Piraeus to Paros ferry, before crossing to Antiparos from Pounta, gives a total journey time of around 6 to 7 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Fly from Chania to Athens and take the Piraeus to Paros ferry, then cross to Antiparos from Pounta. The Pounta to Antiparos ferry runs every 30 minutes in summer and takes 7 minutes. If you are traveling with a car, take the overnight ferry from Chania to Piraeus and board the conventional Piraeus to Paros ferry, then drive across to Antiparos from Pounta.
