Getting from Paros to Schinoussa

If you are heading to Schinoussa from Paros you are making your way to one of the most quietly beautiful of the Small Cyclades, a small island of low hills, olive trees and more than 18 beaches that you can walk across in an afternoon.

Take the ferry

There is a direct ferry from Paros to Schinoussa running several times a week in summer, taking around 2 to 3 hours via Naxos. The Express Skopelitis, the small ferry that threads through the Small Cyclades, serves Schinoussa on its regular route and is one of the more enjoyable ways to arrive. Check the schedule before planning around it as the frequency is limited outside of peak summer.

Getting there by air

Schinoussa has no airport. The nearest airport is Naxos, which has connections from Athens. Flying from Paros to Athens takes around 45 minutes and then Athens to Naxos takes around 45 minutes, followed by the ferry to Schinoussa taking around 1 hour 20 minutes. Total travel time adds significant complexity compared to the direct ferry.

Your best option

Take the direct ferry from Paros. It is the most practical approach and avoids going through Athens entirely. Give yourself at least two nights on Schinoussa and come with everything you need.
