Getting from Paros to Volos

If you are heading to Volos from Paros you are making your way to a city on the Pagasetic Gulf at the foot of the Pelion peninsula in Thessaly, the departure point for ferries to the Sporades.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Paros to Volos. Getting there by sea means taking the ferry from Paros to Piraeus and then travelling by road north to Volos, which takes around 3 to 3.5 hours from Athens.

Getting there by air

Volos has a small airport at Nea Anchialos, around 20 kilometres from the city, with connections from Athens. Flying from Paros to Athens takes around 45 minutes and then Athens to Nea Anchialos takes around 45 minutes. Check availability before planning around it as connections are limited.

Your best option

Fly to Athens and either take the connecting flight to Nea Anchialos if it is available, or drive or take the train to Volos, which takes around 3 to 3.5 hours from Athens. The train through Thessaly is a good journey and worth taking if you are not in a hurry.
