Getting from Telendos to Evia
If you are heading to Evia from Telendos you are making your way from a tiny car-free island off the western coast of Kalymnos in the Dodecanese to the second largest island in Greece, connected to the mainland by road bridges and within easy reach of Athens.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Telendos to Evia. Getting there means taking the local boat from Telendos to Myrties on Kalymnos, which takes around 5 minutes, and then either flying from Kalymnos to Athens and crossing to Evia via the bridge at Halkida, around 90 kilometres from central Athens, or taking the short ferry from Rafina to Marmari in southern Evia, which takes around 1 hour and runs several times daily. Rafina is just 20 kilometres from Athens Airport making it a particularly convenient connection.
Getting there by air
Evia has no commercial airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Telendos has no airport. The nearest airports are Kalymnos and Kos. Taking the local boat from Telendos to Myrties, flying from Kalymnos to Athens and then crossing to Evia via the bridge at Halkida or the short ferry from Rafina to Marmari gives a total journey time of around 4 to 5 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Take the local boat from Telendos to Myrties and fly from Kalymnos to Athens, then cross to Evia via the short ferry from Rafina to Marmari or the bridge at Halkida. The Rafina to Marmari ferry is particularly convenient as Rafina sits just 20 kilometres from Athens Airport. If you are traveling with a car, note that no cars are permitted on Telendos so your vehicle would already be on Kalymnos, from where you can take the overnight ferry to Piraeus and drive to whichever part of Evia suits your plans.
