Getting from Tinos to Serifos

If you are heading to Serifos from Tinos you are making your way from the most venerated pilgrimage island in the Cyclades to an island in the western Cyclades, in the same island group. It has a Chora that climbs a steep hill above the port in a way that looks almost impossibly dramatic from the water.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Tinos to Serifos. Getting there by sea means taking the ferry from Tinos to Piraeus, which runs daily and takes around 2.5 to 4.5 hours, and then boarding the Piraeus to Serifos ferry, which runs 4 to 5 times daily in summer and takes around 2 to 3.5 hours on the fast boat. This keeps the journey within the Cyclades network and Piraeus serves as the natural hub between the northern and western Cyclades.

Getting there by air

Serifos has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Tinos has no airport. The nearest airport is Mykonos. Taking the ferry from Tinos to Piraeus and boarding the Piraeus to Serifos ferry gives a total journey time of around 5 to 8 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the ferry from Tinos to Piraeus and board the Piraeus to Serifos ferry. At around 2 to 3.5 hours the Piraeus to Serifos crossing is one of the more manageable Cyclades connections. Plan your Tinos departure around the Serifos ferry schedule to avoid a long wait at Piraeus. If you are traveling with a car, the conventional Piraeus to Serifos ferry takes your vehicle directly to Livadi port.
