Getting from Zakynthos to Antipaxos
If you are heading to Antipaxos from Zakynthos you are making your way to a tiny island just south of Paxos in the Ionian Sea. It has beaches of a quality that would be famous if they were anywhere more accessible.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Zakynthos to Antipaxos. Antipaxos is accessible only by sea taxi or small boat from Gaios on Paxos. Getting to Paxos from Zakynthos means taking the ferry from Zakynthos to Kyllini on the Peloponnese, which takes around 1 hour 15 minutes, and then travelling north by road to Igoumenitsa for the daily ferry to Paxos. A seasonal inter-Ionian ferry has run between Zakynthos and Paxos in recent years so check if it is operating for your dates as it would save the overland connection entirely.
Getting there by air
Antipaxos has no airport. The nearest airport is Corfu. Flying from Zakynthos to Athens and then Athens to Corfu, followed by the seasonal ferry from Corfu to Paxos taking around 1 hour and the sea taxi to Antipaxos taking around 15 minutes, gives a total journey time of around 5 to 6 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Check whether the seasonal inter-Ionian ferry between Zakynthos and Paxos is running for your dates. If it is, take it and arrange a sea taxi from Gaios across to Antipaxos. If not, fly to Corfu via Athens and take the ferry across to Paxos, then the sea taxi to Antipaxos. If you are travelling with a car, take the ferry from Zakynthos to Kyllini and drive north to Igoumenitsa for the daily ferry to Paxos.
