About the Beach
Ambelas Beach is a charming and very peaceful coastal spot on the northeastern coast of Paros, located within a traditional fishing village that offers a quiet alternative to the busier resort of Naoussa. It features a shore of fine sand and small pebbles with exceptionally clear, shallow turquoise water that is well-protected from the northern meltemi winds. The beach is partially organized with a few sunbeds provided by the local tavernas, which are famous across the island for serving the freshest local fish and seafood right on the waterfront. Many large trees provide a generous amount of natural shade along the back of the sand, offering a fresh and relaxed environment for a long afternoon soak. The surrounding landscape is traditional and quiet, featuring small white houses and blue-domed churches that create a quintessential Cycladic atmosphere. The water is consistently clean and the entry is very easy for all swimmers, making it a safe and practical choice for families. Access is easy via a paved road, and there is a small harbor where local fishing boats are moored. The atmosphere is welcoming and reflects the slow and traditional rhythm of the island life. It is a part of the coast.
