About the Beach

Dasilio Beach is a spectacular and very peaceful coastal sanctuary on the northwestern coast of Thassos, located within the village of Prinos and famously defined by its vast forest of ancient pine trees that reach the very edge of the sand. It features a long shore of fine golden sand and small pebbles with exceptionally clear, shallow turquoise water that remains calm because the bay is well-protected from the strong northern winds by the surrounding green mountains. The beach is well-organized in several sections with many rows of sunbeds and umbrellas provided by the local beach bars and traditional tavernas, yet it maintains a fresh and natural environment due to the dense canopy of trees that provide a generous amount of natural shade. It is a destination for families and nature lovers who want to experience the island in a setting that reflects the lush, green character of the North Aegean away from the more modern and crowded resort hubs. The water is warm and the entry is very easy and sandy for all swimmers, providing a safe and inviting spot for a long day by the sea while listening to the cicadas in the trees. Access is exceptionally easy via the main coastal road and the nearby ferry terminal, making it a favorite for those who value neighborhood charm and high-quality maritime accessibility.
