About the Beach

Diakofti Beach is a charming and very peaceful sandy cove on the southeastern coast of Patmos, located at the narrowest point of the island near the traditional boatyards. It features fine golden sand and exceptionally shallow, crystal-clear turquoise water that remains calm because the bay is well-protected from the seasonal meltemi winds. The beach is partially organized with a few sunbeds and is shaded by several large tamarisk trees that provide a fresh and natural environment for visitors. A traditional taverna is located right on the shore, serving fresh local seafood and traditional Greek dishes in a relaxed and friendly setting. It is a destination for those who want a quiet and authentic beach experience away from the busier resort areas of Skala and Grikos. The water is warm and the entry is very easy and sandy for all swimmers, making it one of the most family-friendly spots on the island.
