About the Beach

Ftelia is a wide sandy beach situated in a large bay on the northern side of Mykonos. It is known as a premier destination for windsurfing because it catches the strong northern winds. The water is clear and the sand is fine, providing a swimming experience for those who do not mind the breeze. It has a bohemian atmosphere with a few stylish beach clubs that blend into the natural environment. Most of the beach remains unorganized, allowing for a sense of space and freedom. The surrounding hills are rocky and offer a frame to the wide horizon. It is a spot where the energy of the sea is always present. Many people come here to watch the athletes move across the water. It is a part of the island that feels wild and less commercial than the southern coast. The light is very bright on this part of the island.
