About the Beach
Katsouni Beach is the longest and most expansive coastal stretch on the island of Nisyros, located on the northern coast between the villages of Mandraki and Palloi. It features a diverse shore of dark volcanic sand, small pebbles, and large stones with exceptionally clear, deep blue water that reflects the dramatic geology of the Aegean volcano. The beach is entirely unorganized and maintains a raw, majestic character, surrounded by high reddish cliffs and wild Mediterranean vegetation that provide a sense of total freedom and privacy.
